Hokies Recruiting: Three-Star WR Divine Deablo Commits to Virginia Tech

The Virginia Tech Hokies had a strong week on the recruiting trail last week, which started out by gaining two commits last Monday from 2016 OLB Emmanuel Belmar and 2017 DB Devante Smith. Then, the Hokies had a very successful Beamer BBQ and camp for players that included Virginia Tech gaining two 2016 commits from LB Tavante Beckett and OT Patrick Kearns. The Hokies are continuing to see the effects of their strong recruiting weekend today with another commitment. Three-star wide receiver Divine Deablo of Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina committed to the Hokies this evening. Deablo has 17 offers from many major programs other than Virginia Tech including Ohio State, Clemson, South Carolina, Florida, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Penn State, Louisville, Duke, West Virginia, North Carolina, Virginia, and N.C. State. Deablo becomes the third wide receiver to commit to the Hokies this cycle along with Eric Kumah and Samuel Denmark with the possibility that this list grows to four very soon if four-star WR Tino Ellis commits to the Hokies on Friday. The Hokies can afford to have a large class of wide receivers after getting no wide receivers in the Class of 2015 along with seeing Kendrick Holland and Carlis Parker leave the program before the spring. Deablo is rated as a four-star wide receiver and the 172nd best recruit by ESPN, while Rivals and 247 Sports rate him as a three-star recruit. Deablo is ranked as the 20th best wide receiver by ESPN, 80th best by the 247 Sports Composite, and 64th best by Rivals. Deablo is also ranked as North Carolina's tenth best recruit by ESPN with the 247 Sports Composite ranking him 22nd and Rivals putting him 18th among North Carolina recruits. Deablo has impressive size at 6'4'' and just over 205 pounds, which immediately projects him as someone that can be a big target in the red zone. Deablo also shows that he has above-average speed given his size, which could make him a dangerous deep threat as long as he can become a force in the air, and continue to improve his ball skills. The Hokies will now be hoping that Deablo can help Virginia Tech get a couple more North Carolina recruits including four-star OT Landon Dickerson and four-star DE Nick Coe who included the Hokies in his top two with Auburn. Charley Wiles is the primary recruiter for all three of those players, and has the potential to have arguably his best recruiting cycle in the state of North Carolina. Divine Deablo is another solid addition for the Hokies' recruiting cycle as Virginia Tech has gained a lot of momentum on the recruiting trail, especially after a great weekend with tons of top recruits visiting Blacksburg.
