Hokies Football: Three-Star OT Silas Dzansi Commits to Virginia Tech

The Virginia Tech Hokies are making their final push on the recruiting trail with their last few offers going out to different recruits along with preparing for five days full of official visits from January 27th to January 31st. With the coaches preparing to be busy in Blacksburg, Justin Fuente and his staff have been on the road recently. However, one trip made by OL Coach Vance Vice turned out to be quite successful. Vice travelled to C.D. Hylton in Woodbridge, Virginia to offer three-star OT Silas Dzansi who flipped his commitment from Delaware State to Virginia Tech almost as soon as Vice offered him a scholarship. Virginia Tech is only the second school to offer Dzansi, but 247 Sports' Barton Simmons called Dzansi a steal for the Hokies. Dzansi has not received that much interest with Delaware State being the only other school to offer and Temple showing some interest. Dzansi would not be arriving until next spring as the Hokies offered him as a grayshirt, which means a stop at a prep school will be coming just like Zachariah Hoyt from last year's recruiting class. Dzansi is a raw offensive tackle, but is recognized as a really good athlete with huge upside at the position. Dzansi made a lot of improvement as a senior and while he still has a lot more developing to do, he showed that he could be a very good starting offensive tackle in the future. This isn't a very impressive recruiting pickup since Dzansi was previously committed to Delaware State, but this does create a solid connection with the new staff to one of the top Northern Virginia high school football programs. C.D. Hylton has produced some very good recruits with 2018 RB Ricky Slade already looking like a top recruit nationally among high school sophomores. This commitment gives the Hokies not only a high-upside offensive tackle, but also some recruiting momentum heading into a big period of five days with many recruits taking official visits to Blacksburg. Silas Dzansi is a solid addition and gives the Hokies some recruiting momentum heading into an important five-day period as they look to put together a solid recruiting class.
