Hokies Football: Four-Star DE Jordan Williams Includes the Hokies in His Top 5

Justin Fuente and the Virginia Tech Hokies have been busy on the recruiting trail this offseason and have sent out their fair share of offers over the past few weeks. However, one thing that is certain is that they have a clear group of recruits who are their top targets across the board, and are putting plenty of resources in trying to get a majority of them, if not all. One of those targets is Virginia Beach four-star DE Jordan Williams who just released his top 5 today which will make Fuente, his staff, and Hokie fans pleased. https://twitter.com/_blessed_23/status/738098741224185857 Williams included the Hokies in his top 5 along with Ohio State, Tennessee, Clemson, and Virginia. Almost no recruiting analyst will be surprised with the five schools that had made Williams's top 5 as Virginia Tech, Virginia, Tennessee, and Clemson have been pushing hard for him for awhile while Ohio State has impressed the Virginia Beach native very quickly. Williams has told us that he does plan on taking summer visits to four of the five schools with the Volunteers also likely to receive a visit from the Virginia Beach native as well. At this point, all signs point towards Williams still announcing his collegiate decision on September 23rd with Williams unsure whether he will still take an official visit to Southern California before he makes his decision. Williams has offers from just about every major program in the country already, making it very unlikely that he will end up choosing a school that didn't make this top 5. With the possibility of receiving an official visit still on the table, Southern California may be the only program that can find a way to beat out these five schools, but that depends on them receiving an official visit from Williams. Right now, there really isn't a favorite among the five schools named in Williams's top 5, but proximity to home seems like it could be a factor with Virginia's two ACC programs and Tennessee all making the cut. Both the Hokies and Cavaliers know that Williams is not only a talented recruit but also would be a big get from the 757 with both coaches in their first full recruiting cycles. There is no doubt that the recruitment of Jordan Williams will be one to watch with Virginia Tech, Virginia, Tennessee, Clemson, and Ohio State all having a legitimate shot.
