Bucky Hodges made the transition from being a tight end to wide receiver but many still have the 6'7'' playmaker as a tight end including those who give the John Mackey Award to the best tight end in America. Hodges has even received a John Mackey TE of the Week honor and now, he has made a list of America's best "tight ends."

Bucky Hodges has been named as one of the eight semifinalists for the prestigious John Mackey Award along with Alabama's OJ Howard, Clemson's Jordan Leggett, Louisville's Cole Hikutini, Michigan's Jake Butt, Ole Miss's Evan Engram, South Alabama's Gerald Everett, and Massachusetts's Adm Breneman.
So far, Hodges has 36 catches for 514 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns and should set single-season career highs in receptions and receiving yards this season. Hodges has been somewhat quiet the past couple of weeks, but the junior from Virginia Beach has been having a strong season overall and is worthy of this recognition among those who still consider him a tight end.
Congrats to Bucky Hodges on being named a semifinalist for the John Mackey Award.
