The biggest one has come out of Arkansas with TE Jeremy Sprinkle suspended over allegations of shoplifting while on a $450 shopping trip to Belk that came as part of the Belk Bowl gift package. However, the Hokies haven't been immune with one notable player being out last minute. https://twitter.com/RTD_MikeBarber/status/814568222385172484 Mike Barber of the Richmond Times-Dispatch is reporting that wide receiver C.J. Carroll was in a walking boot when the Hokies came out on the field for the warmups with the assumption being that he won't play in today's game. Carroll has been the second slot receiver behind Cam Phillips this season with 18 receptions for 258 receiving yards and 9 carries for 46 rushing yards. Carroll has seen a growing role throughout the receiver as the top receiver after the big three of Isaiah Ford, Bucky Hodges, and Cam Phillips. The man likely to play a larger role is Arkansas native Henri Murphy who has played more in the closing weeks of the season and likely will have a little extra chip on his shoulder to have a big game facing his home state Razorbacks. Virginia Tech may use a receiving tight end like Chris Cunningham more along with using Sam Rogers, Travon McMillian, and Steven Peoples more in the slot.
