[Credit: Harley Taylor][/caption] Entering 2016, Isaiah Ford had the potential to leave a legacy as the greatest wide receicer in Virginia Tech history after putting up huge numbers in his first two seasons. Ford backed those numbers up with another big performance as a junior while Virginia Tech's offense broke school records for the most yards and points in a single season. Ford did just about everything he could at Virginia Tech but despite that, he still was uncertain about whether or not to return. Now, he has a decision. https://twitter.com/IAF_1/status/816046896993226755 Isaiah Ford announced on Twitter that he will declare for the 2017 NFL Draft, foregoing his final year of eligibility after being a three-year starter for Virginia Tech. Finishing his degree was one thing that made Ford consider staying but in the end, Ford decided to go to the NFL, but said that he will "be back" to finish his degree. Ford had a very good junior season as he had 79 catches for 1,094 receiving yards, 7 touchdowns, and an average of 13.8 yards per reception. Ford will leave Virginia Tech holding the school receiving records in all 3 major categories with 210 catches for 2,967 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns while also being considered by many to be the greatest WR in Virginia Tech history. Ford seems likely to be a second round pick as someone who has a high floor and seems likely to be a quality number 2 WR that can make plays all over the field, but is best known as being a deep threat with great speed along with having great hands that seem to catch almost anything with drops being rare. On top of that, Ford is the type of guy that every NFL coach wants in their locker room not only because of his talent but also because of his great character and work ethic. Ford has a bright future in the NFL as someone who will have a productive NFL career as at least a quality number 2 receivers who can catch 60 to 70 passes a year.
