[Credit: Harley Taylor][/caption]Buzz Williams has had a tremendous run on the recruiting trail over the past several months gaining 2 2017 commits, 1 2018 commit, and 3 2019 commits with the biggest headlines coming from the 2017 commitments of Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Wabissa Bede. Now, the Hokies have added a forward to go with Alexander-Walker and Bede to continue to build on the Hokies' strong 2017 class. https://twitter.com/coreyevans_10/status/828032206421508097 Forward PJ Horne out of Tift County High School in Georgia has committed to Virginia Tech reported first by Corey Evans of Rivals. The 6'6'' forward was offered by Virginia Tech on Friday so his commitment came in what was around a 24-hour time span after first being offered. The Hokies were only the second school to offer Horne joining Murray State but Horne did also have some interest from Arkansas and Middle Tennessee State. Horne is also the second player in the past two classes to commit to the Hokies from Tift County High School in Georgia, joining point guard Tyrie Jackson who is currently redshirting. Horne fits the Buzz Williams mold as an undersized but tough forward that could potentially earn some playing time down the road for the Hokies. However, Horne is heavily unknown given the fact that his only grade comes from Future 150 which has him as a three-star recruit and says that some of his best skills are his athleticism and rebounding which could fit well in a Buzz Williams system that goes with smaller lineups at time that require a quality rebounder in an undersized, athletic forward. The Hokies still should have room to add one more player to the roster with it seeming likely that the Hokies add a big man or center whether that be via a high school recruit, JUCO player, or grad transfer. Congrats to PJ Horne on his commitment to Virginia Tech.
