Yesterday, the Virginia Tech Hokies received some good news from the recruiting trail as three-star CB Nasir Peoples committed to Virginia Tech, becoming Virginia Tech’s fourth 2018 commit and second 2018 DB commit in a class that will be looking to take a large group of DBs including 3 to 4 cornerbacks.
After committing to the Hokies last night, we had the opportunity to ask Nasir Peoples some questions about his commitment to Virginia Tech including on why he made his decision and now.
Q: “Why did you commit to Virginia Tech?”
A: “VT has been my dream school growing up so once I got the offer, I pretty much knew where I wanted to go. I just wanted to make sure I saw the campus and met with the coaches in-person before I made my decision.”
Q: “How important were (CBs coach) Brian Mitchell and (Safeties coach) Galen Scott in your recruitment?”
A: “Very important, I’ve been talking with coach Mitchell for almost a year now, and we’ve gotten really close. Meeting coach Scott during my visit was great.”
Q: “How big of a factor was Justin Fuente in your decision?”
A: “It was a big factor; coach Fuente knows how to win and in getting to talk to him at camp last year and at junior day, I realized that he’s the coach I want to play for!”
Q: “How big of an impact did your visit this past weekend have on making your decision?”
A: “It was big, I liked the campus when I went up to visit and the coaching staff.”
Q: “Why did you decide to commit now instead of waiting longer and taking more visits to other schools?”
A: “Because I loved the campus and couldn’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be. VT has always been one of my favorite schools because of Mike Vick and Kam Chancellor.”
We would like to thank Nasir Peoples for joining us for this post-commitment Q&A.
