The Virginia Tech Hokies have made North Carolina a priority in the Class of 2018 with the Hokies gaining two commits out of the Tar Heel State from four-star WR Tre Turner and three-star DT Joe Kane. However, the Hokies are far from being finished in North Carolina and added another top talent from the state to the south of them today. Three-star CB DJ Crossen out of Greensboro, NC committed to Virginia Tech over North Carolina. The three-star cornerback and former high school teammate of Hendon Hooker's had a strong offer list that included Auburn, Tennessee, Louisville, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Duke, Kentucky, NC State, and others in addition to the Hokies and UNC. Crossen is a fairly well-rated recruit as ESPN having him as a four-star with Rivals and 247 Sports having him as a high three-star. Crossen is ranked as a top 20 recruit in North Carolina by ESPN, Rivals, 247 Sports and the 247 Sports Composite with ESPN and 247 Sports having him in the top 15. Crossen is also ranked as the 33rd best CB by ESPN, 36th best by 247 Sports, 46th best by the 247 Sports Composite, and 38th best by Rivals. Crossen is the tenth commit for the Hokies including the fourth DB commit along with three-star safeties Chamarri Conner and Nasir Peoples, and three-star cornerback Braxton Clark. The #NC2VT is also thriving as Crossen is the third commit from the Tar Heel State joining four-star WR Tre Turner and three-star DT Joe Kane. Charley Wiles was the lead recruiter for Crossen and has done a tremendous job on the trail as the primary recruiter for Crossen, Tre Turner, Joe Kane, and Chamarri Conner.
