The Virginia Tech Hokies gained a big win in the ACC-Big 10 Challenge with a comeback victory in Ann Arbor over the Michigan Wolverines. With the Hokies having gone on the road in last year's event, VT will be hosting a quality Big 10 opponent this fall. https://twitter.com/VT_MBBall/status/872833042389381121 Virginia Tech will host Iowa in the 2017 ACC-Big 10 Challenge with the date, time, and network still to be determined for the game. This game against the Hawkeyes becomes VT's premier non-conference game and joins a solid non-conference schedule that includes road games against Kentucky and Ole Miss plus two games in the 2K Sports Classic in Brooklyn. Virginia Tech and Iowa faced off previously in the 2012 edition of the ACC-Big 10 Challenge with the Hawkeyes beating the Hokies 95-79. The Hawkeyes lead the all-time series 3-0 with wins over the Hokies in 2006 (in Blacksburg) and 2009 (in Iowa City) in addition to the 2012 win. The Hawkeyes are another solid addition to Virginia Tech's schedule and give the Hokies a great, early-season home game for their fan base. The Hawkeyes are a solid opponent that made three-straight NCAA Tournament appearances before missing out last year and ending up in the NIT. However, the Hawkeyes have made either the NCAA Tournament or NIT in each of the past six seasons. The Hokies are continuing to build the strongest non-conference schedule they've had under Buzz Williams and like last year's game with Michigan, this game will once again present a great opportunity for the Hokies to add a quality win to their resume.
