Things are firing on all cylinders for the Virginia Tech Hokies on the recruiting trail with five commits in the past two weeks headlined by the commitment of four-star WR Tre Turner. However, the Hokies have also made the cut for a couple of their top targets with impressive offer lists.

Virginia Tech is looking to bring in an impressive group of recruits from the Greensboro area with Tre Turner and three-star CB DJ Crossen committed already. The trifecta would be getting four-star LB Alan Tisdale and the Hokies are in great shape for him with this news just being the latest piece of good news for VT.
The Hokies are the favorites for Tisdale with VT being named his leader at multiple points and the Hokies having a lot of traction with him. We continue to stand by our prediction that Tisdale will end up being a Hokie especially with the Hokies having the benefits of guys like Turner and Crossen committed and able to help the Hokies recruit the talented linebacker.
NC State is the only in-state team to make the cut and could be a sleeper here especially as they have been able to get some talented in-state guys this year while Notre Dame definitely is always a threat given their prestige. However, Virginia Tech continues to be the favorite for the talented Tisdale who definitely could fit well in Bud Foster’s defense either at whip or backer though whip may be more likely as some recruiting sites have previously considered Tisdale as a possible safety though the consensus now is that he will be a linebacker.
VT Makes Top 5 For Three-Star CB Rayshad Williams

Virginia Tech may have four defensive backs committed already, but the Hokies are looking to add 1-2 more with Memphis three-star CB Rayshad Williams being right near the top of the list. The Hokies made the top 5 for Williams along with Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt with it being likely that this is not a ranking but simply a list of his top 5.
When we last talked to Williams, he told us that the Hokies and Tennessee were the leaders in his recruitment with both of those schools unsurprisingly making the cut. While VT has put themselves in great position with Williams, they definitely have their work cut out going into SEC country to get a talented cornerback that has plenty of SEC suitors along with going up against both in-state schools.
One thing that could end up proving beneficial for the Hokies is that Williams is from Memphis where Justin Fuente and much of VT’s staff previously coached. Fuente’s impressive stint at Memphis likely left a strong impression while he also had a good amount of success recruiting guys from the Memphis area and should have a good reputation with coaches in that region that could help the Hokies as they look to poach a talented cornerback out of SEC country.
