Three-Star OT Jordan McFadden Commits to Virginia Tech

The Virginia Tech Hokies haven't had the best of luck with offensive line recruiting casting a wide net but gaining only commit so far. However, the Hokies' one offensive line commit entering today came from long time top target John Harris and today, VT added another one of their long-time targets. https://twitter.com/DormanFootball/status/882391944466399232 Three-star OT Jordan McFadden out of Roebuck, South Carolina committed to Virginia Tech over Duke, Michigan State, and Rutgers. The three-star OT had a strong offer list that included Mississippi State, NC State, Syracuse, Indiana, Wake Forest, Virginia, Rutgers, ECU, Appalachian State, and Charlotte in addition to his final four schools. McFadden is the second offensive line and South Carolina commit for the Hokies in the 2018 class along with Harris among offensive line and three-star DE Eli Adams among recruits in South Carolina. McFadden is a fairly well-rated South Carolina recruit with ESPN ranking him ninth in the Palmetto State, Rivals ranking him 28th, 247 Sports ranking him 21st, and the 247 Sports Composite ranking him 18th. McFadden is the 46th best OT according to ESPN, 97th best by 247 Sports, and 88th best by the 247 Sports Composite. McFadden is an important get for the Hokies with Virginia Tech having a thin offensive line board and only one offensive lineman committed despite the 30+ offers that had been sent out. On top of that, it is great for the Hokies to get a top target in McFadden who the Hokies didn't offer within the past two months. Virginia Tech has now gained their second current South Carolina commit (3rd overall (Bryce Thompson previously committed)) this cycle as the Palmetto State continues to be a state that is a priority for the Hokies on the recruiting trail. James Shibest has also continued to have success in that region while this is also an important get for Vance Vice to add another top target who has had an offer for a few months. Congrats to Jordan McFadden on his commitment to Virginia Tech.
