Adonis Alexander Not Expected To Play Against Old Dominion

Adonis Motuapuaka Tremaine 1
Adonis Alexander didn't travel to East Carolina this past week due to a violation of team rules. No timetable was given for when Alexander may return to the field for the Hokies. Today, Bud Foster gave some insight on whether Alexander could return this week. https://twitter.com/normwood/status/910193033437700097 According to Bud Foster, Adonis Alexander isn't expected to play against Old Dominion. If that does end up being the case, Brandon Facyson is expected to start in Alexander's place. Alexander played well in the first two games of the season with 14 tackles, 1 TFL, and 3 pass breakups. Alexander also earned our Defensive Hokie of the Game honors against West Virginia. During fall camp, Bud Foster said that Alexander was the Hokies' best cornerback, making this a tough loss. The good news is that the Hokies have two capable, veteran cornerbacks in Greg Stroman and Brandon Facyson. Whatever this suspension is for, this is hopefully a good wake-up call for Adonis Alexander. Alexander has had issues before with a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge leading to a one-game suspension last season. For now, it remains to be seen if Alexander will play next week against Clemson or not. If not, Facyson will likely start again in place of Alexander though that may be permanent even when Alexander returns after Facyson was listed ahead of Alexander on this week's depth chart.
