Buzz Williams has had some major success on the recruiting trail in his short tenure highlighted by a 2017 class that included borderline five-star guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker. VT is looking to build on that success in the 2018 class with three-star guard Jarren McAllister being the Hokies’ only commit so far.
However, Virginia Tech is in great shape for another one of their targets.

Four-star SG/SF Landers Nolley released his final four yesterday which included Virginia Tech, Georgia, Illinois, and Georgia State. Nolley is a top target for Virginia Tech, and the Hokies will host him on a visit next weekend.
Nolley has a strong offer list that includes Oklahoma State, Georgetown, Florida State, Vanderbilt, Wichita State, VCU, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Cincinnati, Arkansas, Penn State, and more in addition to his final four. Landers Nolley is ranked 95th nationally by the 247 Sports Composite, 118th by 247 Sports, and 90th by ESPN.
Nolley appears close to a decision as he has already taken official visits to Georgia and Illinois. Nolley is scheduled to be in Blacksburg next weekend when the Hokies face Clemson, followed by his final official visit to Georgia State.
Next week gives Buzz Williams and the Hokies a great opportunity to make a big move for Landers Nolley, especially with what should be a crazy environment in Blacksburg. Buzz has had some success with bringing recruits on campus during football weekends. Last year, we saw Buzz gain 3 2019 commitments after a football weekend, a great example of how these weekends can do recruiting wonders for the Hokies.
Virginia Tech is in the hunt for talented Landers Nolley and has a great chance to make a strong impression next weekend on one of their top 2018 targets.
