Virginia Tech Will Host College GameDay for the Clemson Game

VT Cadets VT Flag 1 1
When the 2017 college football schedule was released in full, just about every Hokie fans circled September 30th on their calendar. Many knew that Virginia Tech-Clemson had the potential to be one of the biggest games in Lane Stadium this week. This past week, the ACC and ESPN announced that the game will be in primetime on ABC. Now, ESPN will also be bringing one of their most famous shows with them. https://twitter.com/CollegeGameDay/status/911774654972481536 For the first time in a decade, College GameDay will be in Blacksburg for the ACC Championship rematch between Virginia Tech and Clemson. This will be the sixth time that Virginia Tech has hosted College GameDay (twice in 1999, twice in 2005, once in 2007). While Virginia Tech was featured on College GameDay for the Battle at Bristol last year, this is a great platform for Virginia Tech to send the message that they are not only nationally relevant, but once again one of the ACC's elite. Virginia Tech has had some of the craziest College GameDay environments, and next Saturday shouldn't disappoint whatsoever. Virginia Tech fans have been looking forward to this moment for a while and will be ready to show Hokie Nation off to the world. The location for GameDay has not been announced yet, but the last time GameDay was here, the show set up shop on the practice soccer fields where Hokie Village currently is. That site is a possible location for the show along with the Drillfield which has never been the official site for a GameDay show. No matter where the show is set up, Hokie Nation will be out in droves in what should be one of the great College GameDay environments of the decade. Virginia Tech football is back, and now gets the biggest morning stage in college football.
