2019 ATH Jahad Carter Commits to Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech has been without a 2019 commit for several months after four-star CB Tank Land decommitted in February. Today, that changed as the Hokies gained their "new" first commitment of the Class of 2019. https://twitter.com/JayAlmighty6/status/912014010014474242 Henrico, VA athlete Jahad Carter became the Hokies' only 2019 commit today. Carter chose Virginia Tech over Temple, though his offer list is likely to grow immensely in the coming months. Carter is currently not ranked by any recruiting services though his early offer suggests he should be no worse than a mid to high three-star recruit. Virginia Tech offered Jahad Carter after their Richmond satellite camp and have made him a priority ever since. Carter currently projects as an athlete who, at 6'2'' and 185 pounds, has the size and versatility to play either wide receiver or cornerback in college. Carter is an important pickup for the Hokies after a down 2018 cycle in the state of Virginia. 2019 is projected to be a more normal year in terms of in-state talent, and Carter immediately gives the Hokies some momentum. Right now, Virginia Tech has a great opportunity of being able to keep Carter especially with his short offer list. His commitment to the Hokies may keep some teams that don't think there's any chance of flipping him from offering. However, you can expect that Carter's offer list will grow in the coming months, especially with the increased attention he now has as a Virginia Tech commit. Congrats to Jahad Carter on his commitment to Virginia Tech.
