Virginia Tech Offers 2021 DT Katron Evans

VT Cadet 1
The speed at which teams offer and recruit players has sped up significantly, leading to schools offering recruits sooner. Entering the fall, Virginia Tech had already offered two recruits before they started their freshman years of high school as part of the Class of 2021. While both of these players were WR/DB types, a young defensive lineman by the name of Katron Evans also started making a name for himself this fall. Now, the Hokies have given him his first of what will be many offers to come. Norfolk, VA DT Katron Evans told us last night that he has received an offer from Virginia Tech, confirming the first report from 247 Sports. The Hokies are the first to offer the 6'4'', 265-pound defensive lineman out of the 757 with Evans telling us that he was "not really" expecting VT to offer so soon. Evans visited Virginia Tech this past weekend and said that he had a "great" visit. Evans also told us that he was impressed by the "great environment" and said that the Hokies had "some great coaches." Evans told us that Virginia Tech is the only school that he has visited this fall. There is no doubt that Evans will be a top target for Virginia Tech in the 2021 cycle and offering first should be beneficial in a couple of years. However, Evans is still only a freshman in high school so his main goals at this point are to keep getting better and earn more offers, and not start thinking about where he wants to play college football. Congrats to Katron Evans on receiving his first of many offers to come.
