2019 Three-Star WR Elijah Bowick Commits to Virginia Tech

Highty Tighties 1
Virginia Tech has made the state of North Carolina a priority and was rewarded with five recruits signing from the state of the North Carolina in the 2018 class. VT is continuing to make the state a priority in the 2019 class with multiple top Tar Heel State targets including three-star WR Elijah Bowick. Today, Bowick made a big decision. https://twitter.com/elijahbowick/status/952672387945979905 Three-star WR Elijah Bowick from Charlotte, NC announced today that he has committed to Virginia Tech after visiting the Hokies today. Bowick is the second commit, joining Richmond ATH Jahad Carter, and is the first 2019 commit from North Carolina. Bowick chose the Hokies over a host of offers from the ACC, Big 10, and SEC. ESPN, Rivals, and the 247 Sports Composite all have Elijah Bowick rated as a three-star recruit. Bowick is ranked as the 55th best WR and 19th best recruit in North Carolina by Rivals while the 247 Sports Composite ranks him as the 86th best WR and 22nd best North Carolina recruit. Bowick's offer list is quite strong and includes the following schools:
  • ACC: Virginia Tech, Louisville, Wake Forest, NC State, Duke, Virginia,
  • SEC: South Carolina, Tennessee
  • Big 10: Wisconsin, Maryland, Indiana
  • Big 12: West Virginia
This is a big get for the Hokies as Bowick has been one of their top wide receiver targets in the 2019 class. Bowick was a priority at the WR spot for the Hokies and is a player that VT is very excited to have on their commit list. The addition of Bowick also keeps the Hokies' #NC2VT momentum going in North Carolina after five commits from the Tar Heel State in the 2018 commits. It likely won't be the last with VT in pursuit of a host of North Carolina players in 2019 including four-star DE Savion Jackson, four-star ATH JR Walker, four-star OLB/DE Traveon Freshwater, three-star S Khalid Martin, and three-star ILB Drake Thomas.
