After receiving an offer during the fall, Jesse Hanson has become one of Virginia Tech's top offensive line targets in the 2019 class. Hanson was one of the multitude of talented visitors on campus for the Hokies' Junior Day which went quite well for the Lord Botetourt standout.
Jesse Hanson told us that his visit was "great" and that the Hokies "could tell me everything I wanted." When we asked Hanson to expand upon this, he said that "they just explained really well why they thought I should come to VT and that they could develop my spirituality, physically, and intellectually."
Hanson told us that this visit "definitely helped me in the (recruiting) process" and that while he doesn't have a leader, he said that "VT is definitely high up there." Hanson also told us that Virginia Tech, Iowa State, Virginia, and Duke are the schools recruiting him the hardest. His relationship with Vance Vice was "good" before this visit, but is "even better" now.
The SWVA star has emerged as one of the top offensive guards in the country with Rivals and the 247 Sports Composite ranking him as the 13th best guard in the country. Hanson is also one of the top recruits in the Commonwealth with Rivals ranking him as Virginia's eighth-best recruit and the 247 Sports Composite ranking him ninth.
Jesse Hanson has built up a strong offer list that includes the following schools.
- ACC: Virginia Tech, Virginia, Duke, North Carolina
- Big 12: Iowa State, West Virginia
- Sun Belt: Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina
- FBS Independent: Liberty
