It's been a busy day in Blacksburg with
Justin Fuente receiving an extension,
Adam Lechtenberg being named the 10th assistant, and
Justin Hamilton returning as part of the support staff. However, those aren't the only notable moves Virginia Tech has made today.

Virginia Tech announced that safeties coach Galen Scott has been promoted to co-defensive coordinator. In addition, most of Virginia Tech's assistants plus Ben Hilgart have received raises. Here are the latest assistant salaries from Mike Barber of the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

As you can see, most of the salary increases are minor, but still noteworthy. However, the most noteworthy growth has come with VT's assistant salary pool.

Ben Hilgart's salary is unknown, but his pay raise is well-deserved given the impressive job that he has done.
The most surprising move is definitely Galen Scott's promotion to co-defensive coordinator. The promotion does help his resume as Scott could be a target for Group of 5 and FCS schools as a possible head coaching candidate.
Scott will likely add some responsibilities with this new title that should take some stress off of Bud Foster.
