Virginia Tech has had lots of recruiting success recently gaining four-star LB Dax Hollifield's commitment Wednesday and three-star OG Jesse Hanson's commitment Thursday. Yesterday, the Hokies made it three-straight days of commitments. The Hokies received a commitment from Massachusetts cornerback Mike Sainristil on Friday. With National Signing Day on Wednesday, Virginia Tech completed a well-put together class for 2018, but the fun hasn’t stop there. Sainristil, who hails from Everett, Massachusetts, is a class of 2019 commit for the Hokies. According to 247 Sports, the 5-10, 175-pound cornerback is a three-star recruit, and number three player in the Massachusetts class of 2019. Sainristil also comes in at number 108 nationally among cornerbacks in his class. Sainristil is the first cornerback commit and fourth overall commit for the Hokies in the 2018 class. Cornerback continues to be a need for the Hokies despite adding multiple cornerbacks in the 2018 class. This is due largely to the fact that Greg Stroman and Brandon Facyson are graduating this year while Adonis Alexander will be a senior this upcoming season. In gaining a commitment from Sainristil, the Hokies beat out a solid group of schools that included Michigan, Wisconsin, Ole Miss, and Boston College. The Hokies are also in pursuit of one of Sainristil's teammates, four-star DB Lewis Cine. Tenth assistant Adam Lechtenberg and safeties coach Galen Scott both played a large role in Sainristil's recruitment.
