Taylor Emery Named to the All-ACC Second Team

Many knew that Taylor Emery had the potential to come in and immediately make a difference for Kenny Brooks and the Virginia Tech women's basketball team. However, the JUCO transfer developed into a star for Virginia Tech and today, she received some well-deserved recognition. https://twitter.com/HokiesWBB/status/968585278548881408 Taylor Emery was named to the All-ACC Second Team by both the coaches and Blue Ribbon. The honor is well-deserved for Emery who averaged 17.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game on 49.1% field goal shooting, 39.7% three-point shooting, and 86.6% free-throw shooting. Her 17.6 points per game also has Emery in the top 100 scorers in the country. Emery also stepped her play up in ACC averaging nearly 20 points per game while continuing to shoot the basketball at a high rate and average over 5 rebounds per game. The star junior scored in double figures in 13 of 15 ACC games and broke the 30-point mark twice against Duke and Virginia. While most fans were focused on the returning star duo of Regan Magarity and Chanette Hicks, it was Emery who became the Hokies' biggest star on a Tech team that should have its sights set on making the NCAA Tournament next season especially if Chanette Hicks does return to the team. Congrats to Taylor Emery on being named to the All-ACC Second Team.
