Virginia Tech Makes the Top 6 for Four-Star OT Quinn Carroll

Quinn Carroll has emerged as one of the top offensive tackles in the country with offers from the East Coast to the West Coast. Yesterday, Carroll cut down his list of 32 offers to his top 6 with the Hokies making the cut.

Four-star OT Quinn Carroll released his top 6 which included Virginia Tech, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, and in-state Minnesota. The Hokies know that they’ll likely need to get him on campus for an official visit in order to have a more serious chance at gaining his commitment.

The Hokies do have an interesting connection to Carroll as his brother is former Virginia Tech long snapper Collin Carroll. For a Tech program with a tradition of brothers playing in Blacksburg, it appears to be opening a door for the Hokies to have a shot at a recruit that they wouldn’t otherwise have a chance at given that he’s from Minnesota.

Right now, Notre Dame is the favorite according to the 247 Sports Crystal Ball, but there are plenty of schools involved in his recruitment who could be major contenders. The Hokies are likely the longshots, but their family connection opens the door to have a shot at getting him.

The Hokies have made the cut for Quinn Carroll, but have a lot of work ahead of them to have a realistic shot at getting him. Fortunately, they have a family connection that has opened the door for them in his recruitment.
