Virginia Tech Makes the Top 7 for Four-Star CB Sheridan Jones

Bud Foster 1
After reclassifying from 2020 to 2019, four-star CB Sheridan Jones became one of this year's top in-state recruits. The four-star CB has interest from just about every major program in the ACC, SEC, and Big 10 with an elite offer list to match that interest. Recently, Jones cut his list of schools down to 7. https://twitter.com/SJones3_/status/977627151703904256 Virginia Tech was among the 7 schools to make the cut for Sheridan Jones along with Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Tennessee, Nebraska, and South Carolina. Jones told us that these 7 schools "were the schools that were showing me the most love and are the best fits for me." When we asked Jones specifically why VT made the cut, he told us that it was because "they are a great in state school and coach foster coaches a great defense." Jones also told us that VT's reputation for producing defensive backs had a "pretty good impact" on the Hokies making the cut. Jones currently has visits scheduled to Clemson, Ohio State, and Alabama; but is hoping to visit Virginia Tech sometime in the near future along with the other schools in his top 7. The four-star CB appears to be a fairly high priority for the Hokies though VT has a big challenge on their hands with Clemson, Ohio State, and Alabama all in hot pursuit of Jones.
