Virginia Tech is in a Great Position For 2020 Four-Star WR Rakim Jarrett

Rakim Jarrett 2018 Junior Day
After signing Cam Goode in the 2018 class, Virginia Tech is looking to turn St John's College High School in Washington D.C. into a pipeline school with multiple top 2020 targets coming out of that program. Those top targets include four-star WR Rakim Jarrett who is emerging as one of the top WRs in the 2020 class. Recently, Jarrett told us that the Hokies are in a "great position" in his recruitment. Jarrett told us that the Hokies are in a "great position" in his recruitment because of "what they’ve shown me when I went there for a Junior Day, what they have to offer academically, and how Virginia Tech will be with you even after you graduate." The four-star WR visited Blacksburg in January for a Junior Day visit that he told previously us was "great" and "opened my eyes" about Virginia Tech. That visit has continued to help keep VT in a great position in his recruitment even as he has gained more offers from schools like Penn State and Florida State. Jarrett has taken visits to Penn State and Maryland recently while he is hoping to take summer visits to Virginia Tech, Florida State, and North Carolina along with a return trip to Penn State. Since Jarrett's Junior Day visit to VT, Jarrett has gained some major offers from Penn State, Florida State, Wisconsin, and others with the Nittany Lions quickly making Jarrett a priority alongside the Hokies and Maryland. While Jarrett's recruitment is still fairly wide open; Penn State, Virginia Tech, Florida State, and Maryland appear to be the early frontrunners in his recruitment. One advantage that Virginia Tech has is their connection to Jarrett's high school via Cam Goode who is making it a personal priority to recruit his teammates to Blacksburg. Jarrett told us that Goode has "made a big impact on the guys with offers from VT." Cam Goode has always been known as a well-liked, outgoing guy and it's clear that he's making a big difference for VT at his high school. Virginia Tech has a lot of work ahead as they pursue one of their top offensive targets of the 2020 class but for now, the Hokies are in a "great position" for Rakim Jarrett as they look to turn St John's College into a VT pipeline.
