Virginia Tech was hoping that Jeremy Webb could come in and start for the Hokies in the 2018 season after the departures of Greg Stroman and Brandon Facyson. Unfortunately, injuries will prevent Webb from playing in 2018. https://twitter.com/VT_Football/status/1002565945146175488 Virginia Tech announced today that Jeremy Webb will miss the 2018 season with a left Achilles injury. In addition, the Hokies also announced that projected starter Adonis Alexander is no longer with the team, leaving a major question mark at cornerback. Justin Fuente had this to say on Jeremy Webb's injury. “While we share Jeremy’s disappointment that he will miss the 2018 season, our medical staff is confident that he will make a complete recovery,” Fuente said. “We look forward to Jeremy beginning the rehab process as soon as possible.” Webb is expected to redshirt and preserve his two years of eligibility.
