Virginia Tech has hosted several camps over the past two weeks including their second on-campus camp this past weekend. At that camp, the Hokies decided to extend an offer to 2020 WR Jalin Hyatt out of Irmo, SC.

“It was amazing! I was on my way home and coach text me and said that I just received a scholarship to Virginia Tech. I was very excited because Virginia Tech is an amazing school and I love it up there,” Hyatt told us about his reaction to receiving a VT offer.
Hyatt added that he had a “great” visit to Blacksburg and was able to “learn some new things” from the Hokies’ coaching staff.
So where does this VT offer stand in his recruitment? This is what he told us after receiving his offer:
“It’s definitely on top without a doubt. I always love Virginia Tech. They will definitely be up there when I make my decision.”
While Hyatt wouldn’t go so far to say that the Hokies are the leaders in his recruitment, it’s clear that VT should be a top contender for him even as he likely gains more offers.
Currently, the Hokies and Duke are the only two offers for Hyatt though in-state programs Clemson and South Carolina are also showing interest. Hyatt intends to camp for Clemson soon while hoping to take visits to VT, Duke, South Carolina, and Clemson in the not too distant future.
Virginia Tech made a strong impression on Jalin Hyatt this past weekend and the Hokies should be a top contender for the talented South Carolina wide receiver.
