2020 Four-Star RB Blake Corum Set to Visit Virginia Tech After Dead Period

Blake Corum 1
Virginia Tech has about 4-6 spots left in their 2019 class, meaning that much of their recruiting focus is starting to shift to the 2020 class. That focus includes several top running backs like four-star D.C. area RB Blake Corum. Since offering him, Corum has been one of VT's top RB targets with the four-star RB making a few trips to Blacksburg including one in April. Looking ahead, Corum plans to be in Blacksburg after the dead period ends. Corum told us that he plans to visit Virginia Tech on the 26th of July, days after the current recruiting dead period ends. This will be Corum's third visit in the past nine months to Blacksburg though Corum also stopped by at the Hokies' Bowie State camp and said that experience went "real well." After his visit in early April, Corum told us that it was a "really good visit" and that VT "is definitely a contender" in his recruitment. The four-star RB also told us that he planned to be "coming back soon" for another visit to VT. Currently, the Hokies are among five schools recruiting Blake Corum the hardest along with Wisconsin, Michigan State, Virginia, and North Carolina. Outside of his visit to Blacksburg at the end of July, Corum told us that he currently doesn't have any other specific dates for visit though it's likely that he will take other visits after the recruiting dead period given how he currently doesn't have a leader in his recruitment. One thing that Corum has gotten to seen on his previous two visits to Blacksburg has been the Hokies' offense whether that's been on the field at Lane Stadium or in the Indoor Practice Facility. Because of that, Corum has gotten to see how he could fit in the Hokies' offense and feels his versatility would make him a "very good fit" in Justin Fuente's offense. Blake Corum also made some news recently when he announced that he would be transferring to Maryland private powerhouse St. Frances Academy, following his teammate and four-star Coziah Izzard. https://twitter.com/blake_corum/status/1005114661388341248 Why did Corum decide to transfer to St Frances? "I wanted to play better talent and a national schedule," Corum told us. Corum will definitely have that opportunity on a St. Frances team that will be one of the most talented high school teams on the East Coast over the next few years. Early on, the Hokies have made a strong impression on Blake Corum and will have a great chance to build more momentum next month when he makes his third visit to Blacksburg in the past nine months.
