Three-Star OL William Pritchard Previews His Decision

Vance Vice 1 1
Over the past month, William Pritchard has seen his recruitment take off earning several power 5 offers and a three-star rating from Rivals. Ahead of his decision, Pritchard caught up with us to preview his decision including his final four schools. Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Virginia, and Illinois are the four finalists for three-star OG William Pritchard. This is a slight change from his top 5 which was before UVA offered him, but did include Syracuse and JMU. Why did these four schools make the final cut for Pritchard? "All of them felt welcoming when I visited. They provide great football and a great education. I also was impressed with all of the campuses and coaching staffs," Pritchard said. In addition, this is what he told us about why VT specifically made the cut for him. "I was impressed with the facilities. I enjoyed being around the coaching staff and players when I came up for my visit. I’ve been to multiple games there and I love the atmosphere the fans bring." Pritchard made visits to all four of his finalists this past month including an unofficial to Blacksburg that was "great." He added that the "facilities, coaching staff, and players" stood out during his visit to Blacksburg. Vance Vice has been leading the charge in the recruitment of Pritchard with the three-star Richmond OL telling us that they have been in touch on "almost a daily basis," a sign that Pritchard is a top offensive line target left on the board. One thing that may seem to give Virginia Tech and Virginia a slight advantage is their in-state status, but Pritchard told us that "distance does not matter to me." So what are the main factors for Pritchard in his decision? Pritchard said that the "people, coaching staff, education, facilities, and atmosphere" are the main factors in making his decision. Looking ahead, the Hokies appear to be a top contender while Virginia has been quickly on the rise since the Cavaliers got involved a little later in his recruitment. Tennessee continues to lurk as a sleeper in his recruitment while Illinois is the only team that was able to host Pritchard on an official visit, something that could prove advantageous. William Pritchard has seen his recruitment transform over the past month going from no power 5 offers to a final 4 that excluded one of his power 5 offers. Right now, the Hokies appear to be one of the top contenders as he wraps up his recruitment this weekend.
