After entering the NFL Supplemental Draft due to academic ineligibility, former Virginia Tech DB Adonis Alexander was one of two players selected in today's NFL Supplemental Draft.

Alexander was selected with a sixth round pick by the Washington Redskins. Alexander was the second player selected in today's Supplemental Draft after the New York Giants selected DB Sam Beal from Western Michigan in the third round.
During his three seasons in Blacksburg, Alexander had 126 tackles, 4.5 total tackles for loss, 7 interceptions, and 17 pass breakups in 34 games with 15 starts. Injuries and off-the-field plagued Alexander in 2016 and 2017 after he played 12 games as a freshman, starting eight of them.
With that pick, the Hokies had six players selected in this year's NFL Draft and NFL Supplemental Draft, half of whom were defensive backs. In addition, Alexander became the third Hokie selected by Washington this year alongside Tim Settle and Greg Stroman.
Alexander will now be reunited with former VT DBs coach Torrian Gray who coached Alexander during his first season at VT. Given how Alexander moved to cornerback after Gray left, it's definitely possible that Washington could consider moving Alexander to a rover-like position like strong safety though given their concerns at CB, it's expected that Alexander will start out at CB.
This is a very good landing spot for Alexander given the familiarity with Gray and fellow former Hokies Greg Stroman and Tim Settle.
