2020 Three-Star CB Malcolm Greene Set to Visit Virginia Tech Soon

Edmunds Brothers Adonis 1
When Virginia Tech became the first team to offer Malcolm Greene, the Richmond CB told us that it was "a perfect way to get my recruitment to the next level." 2.5 months after that offer, Greene has 14 offers including nine power 5 offers from the ACC, Big 10, and SEC. Recently, we caught up with Greene to ask him about his recruitment. Greene told us that he doesn't have a leader in his recruitment and that he is being fairly evenly pursued across the board. However, Greene does plan to take a pair of visits to Virginia Tech and Maryland on the final weekend of July with Greene's VT visit coming on the 29th for the Hokies' big barbecue. Greene's trip to visit the Terps will come the day before he heads down to Blacksburg. Beyond that, Greene currently doesn't have any other visit plans though he does plan to take multiple visits this fall. Zohn Burden has been leading the charge in Virginia Tech's recruitment of Greene and the three-star DB always has plenty of quality conversations when around Burden. "He is my area recruiting coordinator so every time I see him at camps, we always have a great conversation," Greene told us. Malcolm Greene told us that Virginia Tech is pursuing as a cornerback first. Whether Greene is a cornerback or safety in the future, he knows the reputation that VT has for producing NFL defensive backs especially after three VT defensive backs were taken in either the 2018 NFL Draft or the Supplemental Draft. "Their DB development reputation lets me know that the coaching staff is nurturing all of their defensive backs for the next level and that’s a great environment to be in," Greene said about the impact of VT's DB reputation on his opinion of VT. Though Greene currently doesn't have a leader in his recruitment, Virginia Tech is a clear frontrunner on paper especially after the Hokies were the first to offer the Highland Springs standout. The Hokies have some early momentum in Malcolm Greene's recruitment and will have a great chance to build on that momentum right after the dead period ends.
