NC State RB Commit Jamious Griffin Plans to Take Official Visits Including 1 to Virginia Tech

Jamious Griffin Spring Game
Throughout the Frank Beamer era, one thing Virginia Tech became known for on the recruiting trail was for successfully recruiting brothers including the Fullers and Edmunds brothers. That hasn't changed under Justin Fuente with Nick Gallo becoming the most recent example in committing to VT and following his brother Eric Gallo's footsteps to Blacksburg. However, the Hokies are hoping that Nick Gallo isn't the only brother of a current or former Hokie to choose VT. Virginia Tech offered three-star RB Jamious Griffin, brother of VT LB Jaylen Griffin, days after he committed to NC State. Since, the Hokies have shown plenty of interest and are set to see the Wolfpack commit on campus at least twice in the next few months. First, Jamious Griffin will visit the Hokies for their big recruiting event next weekend along with a trip to NC State over that weekend. This will be Griffin's first visit to Blacksburg since the Hokies' Spring Game, and first since VT offered him. These weekend visits will also be his first visits of the summer after spending some of the early part of the summer training. Looking ahead to the fall, Griffin told us that while he's not sure of any dates for official visits, he does plan to take officials to Virginia Tech, NC State, Georgia Tech, and Ole Miss. Virginia Tech will be receiving one of Griffin's because VT is a "great school" while also crediting the coaching staff as well. In addition, the presence of his brother Jaylen on the Hokies' roster is another factor helping the Hokies. While Griffin is still committed to NC State, one thing that could pull him away is the fact that he has brothers playing for Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech. Griffin had this to say about the impact of having the opportunity to play with one of his brothers. "It's a once in a million opportunity. What’s more special then playing on the next level with your brother," Griffin told us. Even though Griffin is committed to NC State, the Wolfpack have continued to keep the heat on in their recruitment of him, looking to make sure that he signs with them either in December or February. While Griffin is still solidly committed to NC State, other teams will have the chance to try to make their push to flip his commitment including the Hokies, a team that gives him a chance to play with one of his brothers and a team with an offense that is a much better fit than Georgia Tech's triple option. Given how favorable those two things are for Virginia Tech, the Hokies will have a strong case to build as they seek to flip Griffin's commitment from the Wolfpack to VT.
