New Basketball Offer

Tim Thomas

The Virginia Tech Hokies sent out a 2018 basketball offer recently to borderline four-star SF Justin Ahrens.

Ahrens is 6’5” and projects as a wing for the Hokies if he were to end up in Blacksburg. Ahrens also has offers from Ohio State, Texas A&M, Dayton, Duquesne, and Stony Brook while also decommitting from the Buckeyes early in June.

Ahrens is rated as a four-star by ESPN and the 247 Sports Composite, and a three-star by 247 Sports and Rivals. Ahrens is ranked as the 126th best recruit in the nation by Rivals, 148th best by the 247 Sports Composite, and 178th best by 247 Sports while ESPN and the 247 Sports Composite have him as a top 40 small forward.

With VT just recently offering Ahrens after a visit, it will be interesting to see how involved the Hokies get in his recruitment with Ohio State still looking large and Texas A&M having offered on the same day as when he decommitted from the Buckeyes.
