Early Signing Day is off and rolling so come hang with us today as the National Letters of Intent come in from Virginia Tech’s commits. Comment below and talk about your favorite commits, give your KJ Henry predictions, or ask us anything about the recruiting trail, we’ll be ready for it.

Here’s what we’re watching and where we stand

Storylines we’re watching

  • KJ Henry Decides: It’s decision day for five-star DE KJ Henry as he will announce this afternoon sometime around 4:20-4:30pm on ESPNU. Henry has his final 5 of Clemson, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama. The Tigers are the favorites, but the Hokies are the most likely pick if he doesn’t end up at Clemson. At this point, I’m leaning towards Clemson but that’s far from certain.
  • What will Anthony Grant do: Three-star RB and Tennessee commit Anthony Grant took an official visit to the Hokies last weekend that, from all we know, appears to have gone well. With the coaching change at Tennessee, the Hokies have sensed an opportunity here for Grant. The question now is what will Grant do? Will he stick with Tennessee? Will he flip to Virginia Tech? Will he wait till February to sign? Plenty of unknowns surround Grant’s recruitment entering today.
  • Will Javontae Jean-Baptiste Decide Today?: Four-star OLB/DE Javontae Jean-Baptiste visited Virginia Tech over the weekend, and all signs are that visit went well. However, it seems unlikely that he will sign today but if he were to, VT would likely be the school he signs with. If you’re looking for a potential surprise, this could be it.
  • Who doesn’t sign?: Recently, Justin Fuente had a clear message on what it means if a player doesn’t sign today. At this point, Braxton Clark is the only Hokie commit that we don’t expect to sign but if someone like Clark or anyone else doesn’t sign, what will happen? That remains to be seen.

Interesting note here from Will Stewart of TechSideline on an Orlando Sentinel listing for Braxton Clark.

Not sure what the situation is exactly but it appears Braxton Clark and the Hokies may have parted ways

Two more guys are in: Cole Beck and Kaleb Smith. As far as we know and according to a tweet from TechSideline's Ricky LaBlue, Smith is still a PWO

Alan Tisdale is in for the Hokies. Cam Goode and James Graham are the only ones unsigned with rumors surrounding Graham and Georgia Tech.

Based on their tweets, appears Rasheed Walker and Anthony Grant will not be signing today. Looks like Elijah Davis is also waiting. Davis doesn't currently have a VT offer but has lots of VT interest and is a guy to keep an eye on.
