The NCAA Wrestling Championships are next week in St. Louis and the Virginia Tech Hokies are sending 7 to the national championships with VT being one of the top challengers to Penn State to win the national title as the fourth-ranked team in America. Today, VT’s 7 wrestlers found out their seedings and there were really no surprises in the reveal today.

  • 125: Joey Dance – 2
  • 149: Solomon Chishko – 6
  • 157: Sal Mastriani – 15
  • 174: Zach Epperly – 4
  • 184: Zack Zavatsky – 5
  • 197: Jared Haught – 4
  • HWT: Ty Walz – 3

All six of Virginia Tech’s ACC champions received top six seeds while Mastriani’s upset loss in the 157 final of the ACC Championships didn’t stop him from getting a 15 seed in St. Louis. What these seedings show is that the Hokies head to St. Louis as a serious threat to win their first national title.
