Last Saturday was a huge recruiting day for Virginia Tech not only in football, but in other sports including wrestling. Today, the Hokies gained their first major commit from that weekend with this one coming in wrestling.

Sam Latona, a Class of 2019 wrestler, committed to Virginia Tech today. Sam Latona is the brother of Virginia Tech sophomore wrestler Dominic Latona. The younger Latona is ranked as the 51st best overall wrestler in the 2019 class by FloWrestling. FloWrestling also ranks Latona as the second best wrestler at his weight class, showing how big of a pickup this is for the Hokies.
Latona was one of numerous talented wrestlers that were on-campus Saturday night, and is a great addition that helps build on the momentum Tony Robie and Virginia Tech gained Saturday night.
Latona may not be the only recruit that visited Saturday night to commit to the Hokies within a week with three-star RB Cole Beck announcing his commitment tonight, and four-star SG/SF Landers Nolley choosing between Virginia Tech and Georgia tomorrow night.
Congrats to Sam Latona on his commitment to Virginia Tech.
