VT Football Recruiting Board

Welcome to The Tech Lunch Pail recruiting board where you can get the latest updates on Virginia Tech football recruiting board and see who Virginia Tech has their eyes on.

Class of 2019

Predictions

3* DL Mario Kendricks-Virginia Tech: Three-star DL Mario Kendricks visited the Hokies this past weekend and told us that he “loved it” and had a “tremendous” visit. With that visit, Kendricks told us that Virginia Tech is the leader in his recruitment and is recruiting him the hardest while he is also building a close relationship with Charley Wiles. We’ll have a story later this week, but the Hokies are the clear favorites for Kendricks. (June 11th, 2018)

4* ATH Jaden Payoute-Virginia Tech: (June 9th, 2018) Update: Payoute committed to VT on June 9th, 2018.

4* DL Hakeem Beamon-Penn State: (May 28th, 2018) Update: Beamon committed to Penn State on June 1st, 2018.

4* RB Devyn Ford-Penn State: (May 15th, 2018) Update: Ford committed to Penn State on May 18th, 2018.

4* CB Tayvion Land-Maryland: (May 4th, 2018) Update: Lane committed to Maryland on May 10th, 2018.

4* OL Bryan Hudson-Virginia Tech: (March 19th, 2018) Update: Hudson committed to VT on April 10th, 2018.

3* RB Jordan Houston-Virginia Tech: Three-star RB Jordan Houston was on campus for Virginia Tech’s Junior Day and all signs are that his visit went well. VT has made him a priority and is among those standing out and recruiting him the hardest. Syracuse is the only other school in both of those categories and while the Orange can’t be taken lightly, the Hokies appear in great shape for a top offensive priority in the 2019 class. (February 18th, 2018)

4* CB Nyquee Hawkins-Virginia Tech: (February 15th, 2018) Update: Hawkins commits to VT on April 13th, 2018.

4* WR Tayvion Robinson-Virginia Tech: Four-star WR Tayvion Robinson has emerged as one of the top recruits in the 757 in the 2019 class and a priority at WR for the Hokies. Robinson visited VT for their Junior Day and from what we’ve heard, the Hokies have put themselves in great position to get the 757 star. RIght now, confidence is high that the Hokies will land Robinson with it being hard to see Robinson ending up anywhere else for the time being. (January 15th, 2018)

3* OG Jesse Hanson-Virginia Tech: (January 15th, 2018) Update: Jesse Hanson committed to VT on February 8th, 2018.

3* OG Riley Simonds-Virginia Tech: In the past, we’ve provided updates that show Virginia Tech leading for Riley Simonds and as of right now, all signs point towards Simonds ending up in Blacksburg. The talented three-star guard would be a big get not only because he’s one of VT’s top offensive line targets, but also because of the pipeline it could help jumpstart at Georgia powerhouse Buford. Simonds would be a big early addition for VT and right now, the Hokies are the heavy favorites. (December 13th, 2017)

3* QB Taquan Roberson-Penn State: (October 25th, 2017) Update: Roberson committed to Penn State on October 26th, 2017.

3* WR Jacoby Pinckney-Virginia Tech: Virginia Tech were one of the first to offer talented 2019 WR Jacoby Pinckney and have made him a top offensive priority since. VT has consistently among the top schools for Pinckney, and the Hokies are currently feeling really good about their standing with Pinckney. Pinckney had another strong visit recently, and the Hokies are definitely the heavy favorites at the moment for the South Carolina WR. (October 19th, 2017)

3* DL Adarious Jones-Virginia Tech: Virginia Tech only offered 2019 Bishop Sullivan DL Adarious Jones a few weeks ago but after visiting for the Blacksburg Bash, the Hokies have emerged as the favorites here with Jones having a great visit. On top of that, Jones has a lot of interest in staying in-state and while he is likely to gain more major offers soon, the Hokies are in the driver’s seat at the moment. (August 4th, 2017)

3* TE Nick Gallo-Virginia Tech: Nick Gallo currently has four offers including his only power 5 offer from Virginia Tech which he earned at a recent camp in Blacksburg. Nick Gallo is the brother of Virginia Tech’s starting center Eric Gallo, and the Hokies have a reputation for doing well on the recruiting trail with recruits who have older brothers that went to VT plenty of times including with the Edmunds and Fuller families. Along with that, the Hokies are doing well in Pennsylvania in the 2018 recruiting cycle and appear to have some momentum up in the Keystone State. At this point, the Hokies are the heavy on-paper favorites for Nick Gallo. (June 24th, 2017)

The WR from South Carolina is one of the Hokies’ top targets at WR with this visit being a great opportunity to improve their strong standing in his recruitment. For now, we continue to stand by our prediction of Pinckney to VT. (April 5th, 2018)

Wete is looking to cut down his list to 5 sometime by April as well. Wete has the versatility to play either DE or OLB in college with VT being open to him playing either position. Right now, the Hokies are among those in decent shape along with Penn State and Michigan given their mention, but Wete still appears fairly wide open in his recruitment. (December 14th, 2017)

Class of 2020

Predictions

WR KeAndre Lambert-Virginia Tech: Since offering him, Virginia Tech has made it clear to KeAndre Lambert that he is one of their top wide receiver targets in the 2020 class. Lambert was impressed with his Spring Game visit that has the Hokies in very good shape in his recruitment. In addition, the fact that Lambert is Kam Chancellor’s nephew definitely doesn’t hurt the Hokies’ chances. Even if Lambert wasn’t Chancellor’s nephew, VT would have plenty of reasons to feel quite good about their current standing in his recruitment. (April 22nd, 2018)
