Virginia Tech Basketball: Adam Smith Will Transfer For His Senior Season

The Virginia Tech Hokies had an up and down basketball, but there is a lot of optimism for next season. However, the Hokies made an announcement today about a transfer that most fans will be disappointed to here. The Hokies announced that Adam Smith has decided to transfer for his senior season. Smith started his career at UNC-Wilmington before transferring after his freshmen season and playing for the Hokies for the last two seasons. Smith will be eligible to play immediately as he is on course to graduate this spring. Smith joins Joey van Zegeren as the second player to make the decision to transfer following graduation this May. Smith was the Hokies' leading scorer averaging 13.4 points per game while also being Virginia Tech's best three-point shooter. Smith struggled over the course of the final three games with only 20 points over the course of those games. We will have a more in-depth analysis coming later today.
