Hokies Basketball: North Carolina A&T at Virginia Tech Preview and Prediction

Each game, the Virginia Tech Hokies have played better from a loss to Alabama State to a close win against Jacksonville State to a blowout victory over VMI. Tonight, the Hokies face one of the worst basketball teams so far in Division I basketball, the North Carolina A&T Aggies. The Aggies have been awful this season, and are 0-5 so far this season with 40+ point losses at Florida and Purdue, and a 7-point loss against Roanoke College, a Division III program. The Aggies may come out looking to pull a big upset off, but a victory for them will be if they can stay within 20 to 25 points on the final scoreline tonight. Buzz Williams will have his team fired up tonight to put together another strong statement before their very tough game in the Emerald Coast Classic on Black Friday against #4 Iowa State. Williams will do everything he can to make sure his team is focused on the fact that the Aggies only lost by one in their most recent game against Niagara. Seth Allen had his best game yet against VMI with the junior guard having 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists in 25 minutes against VMI. Allen played with a lot more energy in this game, and is starting to look like the player that was highly-talked about when he first made his decision to come play at Virginia Tech. Tonight, expect more of the same from Allen as he gets ready for Virginia Tech's toughest non-conference game against #4 Iowa State. Zach LeDay has been the Hokies' best player so far this season as a force in the paint scoring and rebounding the basketball. Currently, LeDay is averaging 18 points and 11.3 rebounds in 34 minutes per game so far, and has been a force in the post that is a big reason why Virginia Tech is a better basketball team this season. Expect LeDay to do his fair share of damage in the paint, and get some rest in the second half ahead of Friday's Emerald Coast Classic semifinal against #4 Iowa State. Two healthy players have not played yet for the Hokies in walk-on guard Matt Galloway, and walk-on big man Greg Donlon. If this game is the major blowout that many expect, Galloway and Donlon should get some minutes down the stretch in the second half of this game. This game will not be even close, and the Hokies will record their most dominant performance against a winless North Carolina A&T that has been one of the worst teams in Division I basketball so far.

Prediction: Virginia Tech 87, North Carolina A&T 52
