Hokies Football: Battle At Bristol Will Be in Primetime on ABC

We are only 100 days away from the Virginia Tech Hokies and Tennessee Volunteers facing off in front of more than 150,000 fans at Bristol Motor Speedway for the Battle At Bristol. One thing that many had been wondering is what time would kickoff be and what network would the Hokies and Volunteers face off on? Both of those questions were answered today. https://twitter.com/VT_Football/status/738387712781078528 Virginia Tech and Tennessee will kickoff at 8pm on ABC in what is likely to be seen nationally as the game of the week especially with the setting of 150,000+ fans at Bristol Motor Speedway. The Hokies and Volunteers know that this will be a big stage as both programs look to make their return to national relevance especially Tennessee with many believing that this could be the breakthrough year in Knoxville with the recruiting Butch Jones has done. For Tennessee, they know that a loss in primetime would put them behind the eight ball for making the College Football Playoff. Meanwhile, the Hokies aren't expected to be playoff sleepers but a loss would likely put them on the fringe of the fringe of the hunt for the playoff. Both programs know that this will be a great marketing opportunity to not only 2017 recruits but also future recruits especially with the size of the spectacle that this will be. Of course, even a loss will still be a good look for a program with the magnitude of this game as long as it isn't a blowout loss in this matchup. There is no doubt that the Battle at Bristol will be a spectacle beyond any regular season college football game we've seen before, and it's only fitting that it'll be broadcast nationally in primetime.
