After almost three years of preparation and hype, it is finally game week for the Battle at Bristol. This game will be the largest in terms of attendance, with over 150,000 fans expected to be in the stands. The previous attendance record for a college football game is 115,000 set for a Michigan-Notre Dame game in 2013.
Tennessee is coming off a close overtime victory against Appalachian State — a game in which a missed extra point by the Mountaineers allowed the game to be sent into overtime. The Volunteers struggled to move the ball at times, but expect those issues to be resolved for this primetime game. Virginia Tech is coming off their victory over Liberty, in which there were lots of miscues as well. The Flames led in the 2nd quarter before Jerod Evans got his act together and threw a couple touchdowns before halftime.
