Hokies Basketball: Virginia Tech Picked To Finish 10th in the ACC By Media

Yesterday, the ACC held its annual men's basketball media day with all 15 coaches plus a select group of players and many media from regional and national organizations convening in Charlotte. The ACC is seen by just about all college basketball experts as the best conference by far in college basketball entering the 2016-2017 season with some experts believing the ACC could get as many as 11 teams in this year's NCAA Tournament. Maybe the biggest news that came out of yesterday was the announcement of the preseason ACC poll from the conference's media. https://twitter.com/ericcrawford/status/791377700778901504 After finishing 10-8 in the ACC last season, the Hokies were picked 10th in the ACC though those picked 6th to 11th were all within 150 points and show not only how much talent the ACC has at the top but also the tremendous amount of depth across the conference. Outside of Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, and Boston College; the rest of the conference definitely has the talent to make the NCAA Tournament with a floor of likely 8 teams to make the NCAA Tournament out of the ACC this season. For the Hokies, they'll be ready once again to be under-the-radar to an extent after being predicted to finish lower this year despite being the six seed in last year's ACC Tournament and tied for seventh during the regular season in addition to returning just about every player from last year's team plus having Ahmed Hill and Ty Outlaw return from injury. However, Kerry Blackshear's injury may also have been a factor given the Hokies' depth issues in the frontcourt.
