Hokies Football: Isaiah Ford Breaks Virginia Tech All-Time Receiving TD Record

Tonight, the Virginia Tech Hokies ended their losing streak on the road at Pittsburgh with a 39-36 win over the Panthers in Pittsburgh for the first time since 1999 and first time at Heinz Field. The Hokies had plenty of big plays in the passing game as Jerod Evans threw for over 400 passing yards. The man who had the biggest game was Isaiah Ford who had some great catches including the one that Hokie fans have been waiting for. Isaiah Ford broke Antonio Freeman's career receiving touchdown record with his 23rd career touchdown catch to put the Hokies up 39-29 after Joey Slye's extra point. Ford's catch may be one of multiple catches to be in the SportsCenter Top 10 tomorrow as Ford tipped the ball to himself to bring it in while also preventing the ball from touching the ground. Ford's spectacular catch was quite a fitting way for him to get it on a night where the junior was dominant including some great catches. Meanwhile, Bucky Hodges only needs 5 more receiving touchdowns to pass Freeman while the career receptions and receiving yards records are both in sight for Ford. Congrats to Isaiah Ford on earning his first Virginia Tech career record. Stay up with The Tech Lunch Pail for the latest on the Hokies via Twitter, Facebook, and our email updates.
