Hokies Football: Chuck Clark Will Wear the #25 Jersey Against Duke

The Virginia Tech Hokies have seen the man that wears the #25 jersey make some big plays on special teams throughout the season and last week was no different with the first true freshman getting to wear it. Wide receiver Divine Deablo stepped up and forced a big fumble early out of one of the best kick returners in America in Pittsburgh's Quadree Henderson. During this past week, Justin Fuente brought up the happiness that wearing the #25 jersey and forcing a fumble brought to the true freshman wideout. https://twitter.com/techlunchpaild/status/793121701576007680 The #25 jersey has not only become special among fans but the players have taken serious pride in wearing the #25, and it shows with Deablo making a big play like this and coming off the field with a smile that "filled his helmet". After giving the #25 jersey to a true freshman last week, the Hokies are giving it this week to a very well-known veteran. https://twitter.com/CoachFuente/status/794248374677602305 Star senior free safety Chuck Clark will wear the #25 jersey as the Hokies go on the road to face the Duke Blue Devils. David Teel of the Daily Press tweeted out this interesting fact on what makes Clark deserving of the jersey this week. https://twitter.com/DavidTeelatDP/status/794267324949954560 According to Teel, Clark is the Hokies' leading tackler on special teams this season, making him a very fitting choice. Clark is also a fitting choice as part of what made Frank Beamer's special teams units great was the fact that Beamer would use some of his starts instead of just going with backups and they would make some big plays as Clark has done so far this season. Congrats to Chuck Clark on being chosen to wear the #25 jersey against Duke. Stay up with The Tech Lunch Pail for the latest on the Hokies via Twitter, Facebook, and our email updates.
