Sam Rogers Will Wear the #25 Jersey for Virginia Tech Against Virginia

There have been plenty of hard-working players that have earned the honors of wearing the #25 jersey this season from Steven Peoples to Chuck Clark and C.J. Carroll most recently against Notre Dame. However, there was one player who may be the hardest worker in college football and has played fairly well in his role on special teams that hasn't had the chance to wear the #25 jersey yet. That will change on his Senior Day this Saturday against Virginia. https://twitter.com/CoachFuente/status/801773858441326592 Senior running back and former walk-on Sam Rogers will deservingly wear the #25 jersey for Virginia Tech on Senior Day against Virginia in this year's Commonwealth Cup showdown. Rogers hasn't had a prominent role on special teams but has been the guy at the back on kick returns running the show in terms of telling his return man to bring it out of the end zone or take a knee. Even if Rogers didn't play special teams, there is no one who has earned the honor of wearing this jersey on Senior Day more than Sam Rogers. Rogers earned a scholarship within weeks of arriving in Blacksburg and has been the model student-athlete for Virginia Tech on and off the field as someone who has had a high work ethic and has shown great character and integrity. Rogers has also been the leader on this team, and his leadership and determination has helped set the example that the Hokies have followed this season on their way to being 8-3 and a win over Virginia away from returning to the ACC Championship for the first time since 2011. There is no one who is more deserving of the honor to wear the #25 jersey on Senior Day than Sam Rogers. Congrats to Sam Rogers on deservingly getting to wear the #25 jersey on Senior Day against Virginia for your final game in Lane Stadium.
