Three-Star Athlete Terius Wheatley Has Committed to Virginia Tech

The Virginia Tech Hokies are wrapping up what was a big official visit weekend for the Class of 2017 ahead of the dead period which starts this week. The Hokies had plenty of major targets in-town including big names like Devon Hunter and Nathan Proctor. However, it was one of their most recent offers who made a big decision today. https://twitter.com/techlunchpaild/status/808005022529294337 https://twitter.com/TeriusW44/status/808011729783418884 Three-star athlete Terius Wheatley from Fork Union Military Academy has decided to commit to the Virginia Tech Hokies today. The Hokies are the only power 5 program to have offered Wheatley so far with Old Dominion and Buffalo being among the other programs to have offered Wheatley so far. Wheatley is rated as a three-star recruit by 247 Sports and is likely to be a running back for the Hokies though his speed could potentially allow the Hokies to play him as a slot wide receiver as well. Wheatley also plans to enroll in January and could be an interesting name to watch this spring to see if he may be able to earn a role in the Hokies' offense next fall. Wheatley is known as a speedster with him being timed as running a 4.32 40 yard dash before and could be a future return man for the Hokies given that elite level of speed. The Hokies may also want a guy like Wheatley returning kicks instead of Greg Stroman after Stroman suffered an injury on a punt return this season in the midst of what was an All-ACC First or Second Team level season.
