A large part of that success was due to the performances of stars Zach LeDay and Seth Allen who we mentioned here last week left one of the most impressive legacies in VT basketball history. Today, Allen and LeDay received some more recognition after both had terrific seniors seasons. https://twitter.com/VT_MBBall/status/838494864723558400 Seth Allen was named the ACC's Sixth Man of the Year while Allen and Zach LeDay were both named All-ACC Honorable Mentions. This was the second-straight year LeDay was named an All-ACC Honorable Mention while this is the first award for Allen along with being his first time named as an All-ACC Honorable Mention. Allen had a career season as one of America's most efficient shooters among guards shooting an incredible 55.2% from the field and 46.5% from beyond the arc on his way to averaging 13.1 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.3 rebounds in 28.8 minutes per game this season. Allen also only made 5 starts with Buzz Williams like using Allen off the bench after the first four minutes of each half with Allen providing a great energy boost. On top of that, Allen may be the most clutch player in America making big shot after big shot time and time again this season including three shots that would officially count as game-winners along with multiple other pivotal shots in the final 90 seconds of ACC games. Zach LeDay also was more efficient this year shooting 53.1% from the field and a career-high 77.1% from the free-throw line on his way to averaging a career-high 15.6 points plus 7.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.0 blocks in 29.2 minutes per game. LeDay was a force in the frontcourt once again this season while proving to step up down the stretch with some big points, rebounds, and free throws. Congrats to Seth Allen on being named ACC Sixth Man of the Year, and to Allen and Zach LeDay on receiving All-ACC Honorable Mention recognition.
