The Virginia Tech Hokies have been looking to improve their wide receiver depth with Justin Fuente and Holmon Wiggins both saying that they would want to have 7-8 wide receivers that they could go with the staff hoping to at least have around 5 for this season. The Hokies have not only looked to high school recruiting but also the transfer market adding Ohio State grad transfer James Clark earlier this spring. Now, the Hokies are adding another receiver via a transfer. https://twitter.com/dahazeltonjr/status/855142752547475457 Ball State WR Damon Hazelton Jr. announced today that he will be transferring to Virginia Tech. Hazelton will sit out this fall and then have 3 years of eligibility remaining after that. The 6'2'' wide receiver had a strong freshman season for Ball State with 51 receptions for 505 receiving yards and 4 receiving touchdowns in only 10 games and 7 starts. Hazelton is from Towson, Maryland so the move brings him closer to home in a power 5 conference with opportunity to earn some playing time in Justin Fuente's offense. Hazelton is a talented young receiver and solid pickup for the Hokies that should help Justin Fuente continue to build up depth at wide receiver while also having the potential to be someone that can challenge for a starting spot on the outside when he eligible in 2018.
