Sam Rogers was seen across the board as the top or one of the top 2 fullbacks in the 2017 NFL Draft class but with not more than 2 or 3 fullbacks usually being picked, there was no guarantee that Rogers would go in the 2017 NFL Draft.
However, Sam Rogers will not have to enter undrafted free agency.

Sam Rogers has been selected 206th overall in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams. Rogers had a tremendous career being used at fullback early on and in a running back/h-back role this past season with Rogers making 25 career starts and playing all four years in Blacksburg without being redshirted after being a walk-on who earned a scholarship within weeks of his arrival in Blacksburg.
Rogers had a great career as arguably the best fullback in Virginia Tech history and was able to do it all rushing for 692 yards and 4 touchdowns along with catching 72 passes for 802 yards and 7 touchdowns. More than that, Rogers was a great leader who gave it all every time he was on the field and will be a tremendous addition for the Rams' locker room.
Congrats to Sam Rogers on being selected in the 2017 NFL Draft.
