Three-Star CB Braxton Clark Commits to Virginia Tech

Braxton Clark 1
The Virginia Tech Hokies have been casting a wide net on the recruiting trail especially at the defensive back spot with Virginia Tech looking to bring in 6-7 defensive backs in this class including 3-4 cornerbacks. Entering today, the Hokies had two commits in three-star safeties Chamarri Conner and Nasir Peoples but didn't have a cornerback commit yet. That changed this evening from a guy who the Hokies just offered yesterday. https://twitter.com/braxton_2k/status/869699038358233088 Three-star CB Braxton Clark out of Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Florida committed to Virginia Tech this evening. Clark just visited Virginia Tech this past weekend with Clark's commitment coming a day after he had reported receiving an offer from the Hokies. Clark appears to be a potential steal for the Hokies as the 6'3'' cornerback is just seeing his recruitment take off with Boston College offering right after the Hokies did and Rutgers also being among the offers for the three-star cornerback. Clark is also fairly well-regarded by 247 Sports with Clark being ranked as the 54th best cornerback and 81st best Florida recruit by 247 while no other recruiting services currently have rated him. This is quite an impressive turn of events for Virginia Tech to offer Clark within the past couple of days and gain his commitment almost immediately after. Clark is an intriguing prospect as a long cornerback who has the size to play either cornerback or safety while also coming out of a quality Dr. Phillips program that also produced Virginia Tech signee Robert Porcher IV and currently has some other power 5 recruits including four-star OT John Campbell and three-star CB Tanner Ingle. Galen Scott was the primary recruiter for Clark and has done a great job gaining a commitment from Clark so quickly after offering him while also continuing to be effective in Central Florida as the primary recruiter for his teammate Robert Porcher IV. Congrats to Braxton Clark on making his collegiate commitment.
